The incomparable Cher was joined by Carol Burnett on ‘The Cher Show’ in 1975 to perform a hit medley together. The two superstars sit on a white step on the stage wearing black, slim dresses with sparkles on them.
They are both holding a rose and begin singing a Broadway-style medley featuring ‘I’m Following You / The G.I. Jive / Lonely At the Top.’ They walk around and sing about amazing women on the big screen.
They sing about how they weren’t playing around with dolls when they were young, but they were “Tap dancing in the tents!” They appear in a new scene dressed as toddler girls and sing about how they hated each other even back then.
Then, it transitions to them in pink, shiny dresses as they play instruments like clarinets, saxophones, drums, and harmonica. Cher pretends to play the string bass, and Carol does a trumpet solo.
In another scene featuring ‘G.I. Jive,’ they sing, standing on an all-white Jeep in white military clothes with an American flag behind them. They smile and sing until a bomb hits, covering them in black ashes.
Every version of Carol and Cher shows up on stage dressed in their previous costumes. They sit on the pink stairs, and all hold out the final note together in triumph.
